Rabindranath Tagore’s short tale ‘Nostonir’ was written in Bengali and published in 1901. In 1964, the acclaimed director Satyajit Roy made a film based on this short tale called ‘Charulata.’ This short tale focuses on the lives of a lonely woman. Charu, Amal, and Bhupathi are the three central protagonists of the story. It is regarded as one of Rabindranath Tagore’s greatest short tales.
