ট্রল শব্দের অর্থ:
আমরা বর্তমানে যারা অনলাইনে থাকি বা ইন্টারনেটের সাথে পরিচিত প্রায় শুনতে নাই যে কেউ না কেউ আজকে (troll) ট্রল হয়েছেন। সেই ট্রল হওয়া মানে কি?
ট্রল হওয়া মানে একধরনের অপমানিত হওয়া, হাস্য পাত্র হওয়া বা খিল্লির পাত্র হওয়া বা ঘৃণার শিকার হওয়া ইত্যাদি। অর্থাৎ অনলাইনে যেমন facebook বা twitter ইত্যাদিতে অন্য ব্যবহারকারীদের অপমানের শিকার হওয়াকেই ট্রল হওয়া বলা হয়।
Dictionary অনুযায়ী ট্রল হলঃ to harass, criticize, or antagonize (someone) especially by provocatively disparaging or mocking public statements, postings, or acts।
অর্থাৎ কাউকে উস্কানিমূলক পোস্ট বা মন্তব্য বা কোন কার্যকলাপের মাধ্যমে হয়রান বা সমালোচনা করা তাঁর বিরোধিতা করাই ট্রল।
