English Quote – Bengali Equivalent…. Hi I am new to the forum. There’s a saying “You Can’t Soar Like An Eagle When You Surround Yourself With Turkeys”. Is there a Bengali language equivalent to that? I want to share that with a friend but he is more comfortable with his mother tongue than English.

Hello, The quote “You Can’t Soar Like An Eagle When You Surround Yourself With Turkeys” basically means “if you want to make something positive in your life, then spend your time with the best people you can”. Equivalent to that saying I don’t think there is any exact saying exist in Bengali. But as far I know there is a proverb in Bengali, it says “সৎ সঙ্গে স্বর্গবাস অসৎ সঙ্গে সর্বনাশ” which mean “A man is known by the company he keeps”. Another saying in Bengali, which says “কষ্ট না করলে কেষ্ট মেলে না” Which means “No pains no gains or No sweat, no sweet”.
But if I translate the saying it will be like this “জীবনে ইতিবাচক সাফল্য চাইলে তোমাকে নেতিবাচক মানুষের সঙ্গ পরিহার করতে হবে।
